The Krishna District Administration, Andhra Pradesh Government signed a MOU with CII to skill 2500 underprivileged youth over a period of 24 months at Vijayawada in the following ten skills

  • Electrical Installation,
  • Motor Vehicle Engineering,
  • Carpentry,
  • Plumbing,
  • Machine Operators,
  • Air Conditioning and Refrigeration,
  • Painting,
  • Beauty Therapy,
  • House Keeping and
  • Retail Management.

This programme is planned for candidates who have passed 10th standard and above, are unskilled and not interested in conventional agricultural jobs. Candidates are selected and trained in different demand-based trades at Government and other professional training institutions. Wherever, residential facility is not available with institutes, the District Administration would provide accommodation and food facilities. The training programme emphasizes more on practical than on theory. The training aims to make the candidates self- employed & independent entrepreneurs.

This programme is planned innovatively, meticulously with dedication to eliminate the flaws of earlier programmes for getting the best results, duly taking the services of officers who wish to take part voluntarily.

  • Course Duration: 3 Months
  • Fees: Free of cost. Sponsored by the Govt. of AP. Hostel facility and food provided free of cost.
  • Number of Candidates Trained: 132 candidates
  • Number Certified: 56 candidates
  • Number placed in jobs: 6 candidates recruited by CII Member Company

Second batch to train in Retail Management, Electrical Installation and Beauty Therapy and Hair Dressing to commence from April 2007.
