1st CII WorldSkills Competitions
With the focus to prepare competitors for the International WorldSkills Competitions, CII initiated the WorldSkills India competitions from 2006. Similar to the International WorldSkills Competitions the aim was to give the competitors a feel of what it means to participate on globally benchmarked standards. This would help in sharpening the skills, increasing productivity and restoring dignity of labor.The 1st WorldSkills competitions were organized from 16th -18th January 2007 at Bangalore. Though a first time event companies participated in the competition with fervor. The trades covered under the competition were:
- Electrical Installation
- Industrial Electronics
- Industrial Controls
- CNC Milling
- CNC Turner
- Welder
A total of fifteen participants competed against each other to exhibit their skills in their respective trades. The winners for 2006-2007 were:

Participate in the Skills Competition: Interested Participants are requested to contact their respective CII Regional Office to Compete at Regional Level. The winners of 1st, 2nd and 3rd position at Regional Level would be allowed to compete in the CII National Finals as per CII Policy for this competition.
